The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana.

The event held in “Astana Arena” was attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbangullah Berdymukhamedov, the Head (Rais) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and other foreign guests.

The tournament is attended by more than 2 thousand athletes from about 90 countries, including representatives of Uzbekistan. Our compatriots will perform in such activities as kurash, alysh, tug of war, archery, horseracing, strongmen competitions and others.

Participants were shown a theatrical performance dedicated to the rich culture and history, traditions and customs of nomadic peoples.

At the end of the ceremony, the Head of our state departed for Tashkent. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Oljas Bektenov saw off a high guest at the international airport of Astana.
