On September 2, representatives of state organizations and the public in Tashkent met to honor the memory of Islam Karimov.

The Head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the ceremony and laid a wreath at the foot of the monument to the First President of our country.

Islam Karimov is the leader who proclaimed our country’s independence and led it on a path of progress. The Head of our state in his speech at the celebration of Independence Day emphasized the importance of this historic event:

“It was thanks to independence that our national statehood was revived. Uzbekistan entered a new historical era. It is because of our independence that we have taken a place in the world community”.

On these important days, we remember with gratitude the patriots who fought for independence and contributed to the formation of our state. The first President was the Head of the country at that crucial moment in our history, in difficult conditions.

In the Islamic Karimov memorial complex, verses from the Quran were read. The First President’s achievements in maintaining peace and stability in the country, and improving the welfare of the people were noted.

During the ceremony, representatives of Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, and the public laid flowers on the monument of the First President.

Memorial events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
