In accordance with the orders of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of various spheres were awarded honorary degrees, orders and medals. The award ceremony was held on August 30 at the Kuksaroy Residence.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated everyone on Independence Day, and the gathered - with high state awards. He emphasized the importance of the achievements in the country and noted the efforts that led to these successes.

- What are we working for? First of all, to make our children happy so that our people can live in peace, freedom and welfare. We have started a movement for human honor and dignity. Who is implementing these initiatives and ambitious goals on the ground? People like you, courageous, patriotic, strong people! You are heroes, an example for our youth. I am proud of you and thank you on behalf of our people, - said the President.

These efforts are bearing fruit: the appearance of cities and villages, all spheres and industries is changing dramatically. Extensive work is being carried out in the economy, construction, education, health and social protection. People see the results of these changes in their daily lives.

The world recognizes that our country has embarked on a path of progress. At the initiative of Uzbekistan, several resolutions of the United Nations were adopted. Initiatives taken in major political and economic forums have received broad support from the international community.

With the states of the far and near abroad favorable agreements in trade-economic, tourist, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres are signed. Prestigious international conferences were held in Uzbekistan. The art and culture festivals, as well as the historic victory at the Olympic Games, have been widely recognized.

Thus, we have entered the world arena as a creative and generous nation. The Head of state stressed that all this is an achievement of our people.

- I consider every hardworking and selfless compatriot as my closest friend and loyal companion, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. - Today our homeland especially needs people who feel their part in the fate of the country and people, people able to inspire others, especially the young, to inspire faith in tomorrow and unite society. The trust of the people, unity and agreement are crucial to achieving our goals.

The meeting discussed the current world situation and the difficulty of finding complex solutions in a rapidly changing reality. The growing global competition and struggle for the future are posing new challenges to countries and peoples. Only a nation prepared for these challenges can raise its state to the position it deserves.

What place will Uzbekistan take in today’s increasingly uncertain world? Are we making our country and people easier by working hard and dealing with the changes that are taking place? These questions should concern us all.

Independence gave us true self-awareness and restored honor, dignity and pride. However, Independence is primarily a responsibility: a responsibility for self-determination, for the creation of a prosperous and free homeland.

Today’s achievements are not the end of our journey. Our people deserve a better life and are capable of doing great things. There is a strong belief that if we all come together, work together, do our duty honestly and participate actively in the reforms, then we will achieve the goals.

The President also congratulated fellow compatriots receiving awards in the regions.

- What is a reward? First of all, it is a high recognition of a person’s merits. When the work of a person receives respect and recognition from the state and society, it brings joy not only to him but also to his family, relatives, colleagues and the whole country. Our task is to appreciate those who work honestly and fruitfully, - the Head of state stressed.

After that, a solemn ceremony of conferring the honorary titles, orders and medals took place.

- The hard-working person always gets a deserved evaluation. Today we celebrate honest work, dedication and patriotism. May these high titles and awards inspire you to new achievements. The more such people in our country, the more I want to reward them, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
