On August 28 President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on improving productivity and efficiency in industrial sectors.
Over the first 7 months of the current year, the volume of industrial production increased by 7.1 percent and reached 435 trillion sums. High growth rates were observed in the electrical, textile, leather, and automotive industries. Locally, 1,300 new facilities have been put into operation, and additional production sources worth 40 trillion sums have been created.
However, the situation is not uniform across all regions and sectors. Specifically, in 4 districts, the volume of industrial production decreased compared to the previous year, and in 14 districts, growth did not even reach 2 percent.
In this regard, a system of working with enterprises has been implemented locally. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy and Finance reported on the work started in this direction and plans until the end of the year.
It was noted that to date, 112,000 enterprises in the regions have been studied, and their problems are being addressed. Specifically, assistance has been provided on issues related to working capital, electricity and gas supply, and taxation. Conditions are planned to be created for additional production of goods worth 30 trillion sums by the end of the year.
Instructions have been given to assign responsible persons to enterprises based on the number of employees and to train entrepreneurs based on modern approaches. Programs will be developed for industrially oriented areas of each region.
Measures have been discussed for launching major projects, increasing the share of domestic products in government procurement, and boosting export volumes.
