On July 8, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the National People's Congress of China, headed by the Chairman of the Standing Committee, Zhao Leji.

The head of the Chinese parliament conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the highest level of Uzbek-Chinese friendship and all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership achieved in recent years was noted with deep satisfaction.

The agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China in January of this year are being consistently implemented.

There is confidence that the results of the fruitful high-level negotiations held within the framework of the SCO summit in the city of Astana will give a new impetus to the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between our countries.

China's resolute support for Uzbekistan's program of socio-economic reforms, particularly in poverty reduction, as well as plans to adopt strategic cooperation programs in infrastructure development, industrial cooperation, agriculture, and "green" energy, was confirmed.

The importance of the early commencement of practical work on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway was emphasized.

The intense interregional contacts were highly appreciated. The second Regional Forum will be held next year.

Issues related to the opening of branches of Chinese universities, expanding cooperation in vocational education, and supporting the activities of the Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan were discussed. The second Educational Forum is scheduled for next year.

There was an exchange of views on issues of cultural and tourism exchange.

The necessity of further expanding inter-parliamentary interaction, intensifying exchanges between parliamentarians, and studying legislative experience to support the ongoing reforms was particularly emphasized.

It was noted that a "road map" is planned to be adopted for the implementation of activities aimed at deepening the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
