A solemn ceremony took place at the "Kuksaroy" residence, where one of Uzbekistan's highest state honors, the Order of "Oliy Darajali Do’stlik," was bestowed upon the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, for his active promotion of solidarity and unity in the world, enhancing the organization's effectiveness, and strengthening cooperation between our country and the UN.
During the award presentation, the head of our state specifically acknowledged António Guterres's personal contribution to achieving an unprecedentedly high level of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN.
The ceremony underscored the Secretary-General's comprehensive support for the wide-ranging reforms and initiatives conducted in our country, which hold global and regional significance, as well as the expansion of UN institutions' activities in the republic.
It also highlighted the Secretary-General's longstanding efforts in strengthening international security and stability, reforming global governance institutions, promoting sustainable development goals, combating climate change, and ensuring food and energy security.
