On June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The head of our state warmly congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity, great success, as well as peace and well-being to the fraternal people of Turkmenistan.

The historical role of the National Leader in the formation and dynamic development of modern Turkmenistan, the enhancement of the country's authority on the international stage, and the strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen multifaceted relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership were emphasized.

Special satisfaction was noted with the progress achieved in bilateral cooperation in recent years. Trade turnover is growing, a cross-border trade zone is being established, and important joint economic and humanitarian programs are being implemented.

The leaders emphasized the importance of discussing new projects of cooperation in industry, transportation, energy, agriculture, and the development of interregional and cultural exchange during the upcoming meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

Current aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia were also discussed.
