On June 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of Türkiye headed by the Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who is in our country on a working visit.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Turkish defense conveyed to the Uzbek leader sincere greetings and best wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The topical issues of further deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership in the context of implementing the agreements of the high-level visit to Ankara on 5-6 June this year were considered.

The sides discussed prospects of developing military and military-technical cooperation, including close interagency interaction, organization of joint events, training of military specialists and others.

Special attention was paid to strengthening and coordinating cooperation in the sphere of security, countering terrorism, extremism and radicalism.

There was also an exchange of views on ensuring peace and stability in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan.
