On June 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli who is visiting our country to hold events of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture.

At the beginning of the meeting, Adil Karimli conveyed to the Head of our State sincere greetings and good wishes from the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

Issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership, including in priority humanitarian sphere were discussed.

The Leader of our state noted with great satisfaction the intensification of cultural exchange in recent years.

Since the beginning of this year, the Days of Science and Culture of Uzbekistan, the exhibition and premiere of the national ballet "Lazgi" were successfully held in Baku.

The presentation of the book by the poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli took place within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture that started today. An exhibition, theatre performances and other events are also planned.

The importance of continuing an intensive dialogue and a rich programme of cultural events on the basis of the "road map", promoting joint initiatives and projects within the framework of such international organizations as UNESCO, TÜRKSOY and ICESCO was noted.
