President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the water sports palace built in the Yakkasaray district of the capital.
The complex belonging to the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan is built based on the experience of countries with a developed school of water sports. It is noteworthy that conditions are created here for both professional athletes and amateurs.
In a large hall with a 50-meter swimming pool and 500-seat stands, it is possible to hold high-level international competitions and training of the national team. In the height jumping pools and small swimming pools, children learn water sports.
In the complex, young people, labor collectives and veterans can improve their health. It can serve 100 people simultaneously and more than a thousand people a day.
On the second floor, there are offices of administration and coaches, conference hall, gym and special rooms for sports commentators.
Water sports school is established based on the complex. The Head of State observed the training of young athletes, supported their aspirations and inspired great achievements.
This year, 13 athletes from the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan were licensed to participate in the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. The President discussed the course of training with these athletes and their coaches.
- We pay great attention to the construction of sports complexes in cities and villages, the popularization of sports. Because young people who do sports will not only be healthy, but also become role models for their children. Professional athletes like you are a pride and an example for young people, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
