The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met in a narrow format at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.

On the eve of the visit, a business forum was successfully held, the results of which formed a solid portfolio of new projects in the field of industry, "green" energy, electrical engineering, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and other areas, including through the public-private partnership programme.
Governments have a target of US $5 billion in trade, including through the expansion of products under the Preferential Trade Agreement. An agreement was reached on the establishment of a trade office of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
The decision to establish an Uzbek-Turkish Business Council under the chairmanship of the two Heads of State, the first meeting of which will be held today, was noted with satisfaction.
Issues of expansion of mutually beneficial partnership in the fields of agriculture, water management and digitalization were also considered.
The need for further strengthening and coordination of cooperation in the field of security and defence, combating terrorism, extremism and radicalism was emphasized.
The parties agreed to continue active cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Special attention was paid to cooperation in the fields of education, health, tourism and sports. Special attention was paid to the need to create the most favorable conditions for mutual travel of citizens of the two countries.
Leaders of Uzbekistan and Türkiye also considered topical issues on the regional and international agenda, in particular the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
