President Asks About Condition of Pilgrims from Uzbekistan

05.06.2024

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Board of Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliqnazar.

The Head of State asked about the preparations for the sacred pilgrimage of the Hajj, the conditions created for compatriots, their health and mood.

At the beginning of the conversation, Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliqnazar conveyed to Shavkat Mirziyoyev the greetings and wishes of pilgrims who are in sacred places.

It was noted that this year the Hajj events are organized at a high level and are organized in an orderly manner. The Hajj regional centers work together. All conditions were created for pilgrims with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health and other organizations.

At present, about 12 thousand of our compatriots are in Saudi Arabia. A total of 15,130 citizens will be able to make the pilgrimage. They are accompanied by 300 team leaders, 50 senior physicians, cooks, interpreters and other assistants.

Such attention and conditions were highly appreciated by the Saudi authorities, who expressed their respect and gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan.

This year’s innovation was the performance of the Khatm, a recitation of the Quran organized by religious figures and readers in Saudi Arabia. To date, 1,515 prayers have been delivered for the peace of our country and the well-being of our people.

The President wished our compatriots safe completion of the sacred pilgrimage and safe return to their homeland. He expressed the hope that, upon return, the pilgrims would contribute to strengthening the atmosphere of good and care in our society, combating ignorance through education, educating young people and strengthening family values.

The conversation took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere.
