President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed about the activity of the "Gijduvon Ipak Tola" enterprise.
The cluster system was also introduced in the domestic silk industry. Thus, 74 silk-making clusters and 11 enterprises were created for the preparation of silkworm eggs. The area of mulberry plantations increased from 40 thousand hectares to 55 thousand hectares. As a result, cocoon production increased 2,5 times, and silk export - 3 times.
The "Gijduvon Ipak Tola" enterprise also has a cluster system, capacity has been created for the production of 48 tons of raw silk and 28 tons of silk wool per year. The cluster includes the Gijduvan and Shafirkan districts, where 2 million 300 thousand mulberry seedlings were planted for the feeding base last year. 28 thousand people were employed in two districts.
The enterprise completely recycles harvested cocoons. This year the harvest was collected twice, and 842 tons of cocoons were produced.
This allows producing products worth 104 billion Uzbek soums and exporting more than US $4 million.
The Head of State visited the silk-growing farm and cocoon harvest. He emphasized the need to develop the genetics of cocoons and improve their quality, as well as the implementation of scientific achievements in the activities of clusters. Instructions were given to train silk farmers in model clusters and to spread advanced technology.
