On May 29, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on the activities of Asakabank and the Business Development Bank in attracting investment and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
Our country has a high level of investment activity and many economic projects are being implemented. Consequently, banks are increasingly involved in these processes.
The presentation focused on the plans of Asakabank and Business Development Bank for the current year.
In particular, Asakabank plans to attract and implement US $2,1 billion in projects this year. The bank has formed projects worth US $3 billion in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries.
In addition, with the participation of Asakabank, it is planned to involve 285 thousand people in entrepreneurship and support their business initiatives.
According to the Business Development Bank’s presentation, a total of US $1,5 billion will be attracted for business support programs and investment projects in 2024. US $225 million of this is to be provided by international financial institutions. More than 47 thousand micro-projects will be implemented by the end of the year.
It is also planned to launch the activities of 380 thousand self-employed and individual entrepreneurs by financing the business ideas of the population. The Bank’s training programs will reach more than 70 thousand people.
Thanks to the active foreign policy of our state, numerous agreements have been concluded with partner countries and international structures. In particular, 87 investment projects worth US $772 million will be implemented with the participation of Asakabank, and 45 projects worth US $485 million with the Business Development Bank.
The presentation also provided information on the progress of these important projects. The President stressed that banks should support their clients and help them at every stage of project implementation.
The Head of State stressed that banks should work with all clients and provide assistance at every stage of the project, which should be reflected in the creation of new jobs and the reduction of poverty in makhallas.
It was noted that it is necessary to organize the work of banks in a new way, so that they become not only centers for providing loans, but also modern investment and commercial structures, implementing promising projects and transferring them to entrepreneurs in the form of ready-made businesses.
The presentation also touched upon the issues of digitalization of the processes of support of small and medium enterprises, increasing their transparency, introduction of modern software solutions and innovations.
