On May 1, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of the OPEC International Fund for Development Abdulhamid Alkhalifa as part of the program of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The Head of our state emphasized the important role of the OPEC Fund in achieving the main Sustainable Development Goals and highly evaluated the business projects financed in Uzbekistan in the spheres of industry, infrastructure, water supply, and others.

The importance of speedy preparation and implementation of projects under the Agreement worth US$500 million signed during the Forum was emphasized. The document envisages promotion of new areas of practical interaction, such as tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, ecology, support for women's entrepreneurship and youth initiatives.
