On April 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda as part of his state visit to Dushanbe.
The issues of further expanding Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and alliance were considered.
The President noted that a historic Treaty on Allied Relations was signed yesterday. In this respect, the importance of unconditional implementation by both sides of the agreements reached at the top-level was stressed.
It was noted that in order to achieve these goals, a joint roadmap should be developed and meetings of PMs should be organized on a systematic basis.
Increasing trade turnover, developing border trade and trade infrastructure, deepening industrial cooperation in automotive production, energy, electrical engineering, mining, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and others were identifed as priority areas.
The importance of fully exploiting the potential of the regions of the two states and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges was underscored.
