President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Tuyokli makhalla in Sharaf-Rashidov district, where He saw the living conditions of the population.
Applying the potential of makhallas to increase employment is now part of the state policy. Household plots are one of the most effective and accessible resources.
According to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of March 5 of this year "On measures to support production in the citizens’ households using the industrial method and the integration of new reserves in household plots and dekhkan farms", significant opportunities have been identified.
In Tuyokli makhalla this initiative is clearly visible. Each of the 678 houses has its own household plot, with a total area of 36 hectares. Fruit trees, grapes and vegetables are successfully grown. Greenhouses for growing vegetables and flowers are functioning in 314 households.
The President visited the home of local resident Abdimumin Karimov.
The property of his household covers 14 hectares, seven of which are equipped for a greenhouse. He also keeps chickens, bees and cattle. The household owner shared that his income from the products of his household plot is more than 200 million Uzbek soums a year.
- "This typical example of a household shows that it is possible to generate a good income if there is initiative in the family. Many people have household plots and want to work on them, they just need support. For example, it is important to attract local enterprises to create greenhouses and to provide beehives, seedlings, seeds and fodder as a single set in a single package and at an affordable price," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President also held a meeting with the Makhalla Seven. They discussed ways to intensify the use of local resources to increase family incomes and improve their purchasing power, which affects the quality of life, health and development of children and contributes to the progress of society.
