On March 29, the issues on strengthening of measures to ensure public safety were discussed during a meeting held by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting included the participation of heads of law enforcement agencies and power structures. Reports were presented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard leadership regarding the organization of public order maintenance in large establishments of the trade and service sector, such as shopping and entertainment complexes, parks, markets, and other locations where citizens gather.
Given the increasing threats and risks to public security, it was emphasized that there is a need to enhance cooperation between law enforcement agencies and businesses in maintaining public order and ensuring citizen safety. Furthermore, it was noted that the rights and legitimate interests of both business entities and citizens must be unconditionally safeguarded during the implementation of measures related to public safety.
In the light of these discussions, the President instructed the development of a draft regulatory legal act that aims to facilitate comprehensive cooperation between law enforcement agencies, civil society institutions, and businesses in this regard.
The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard received directives to further strengthen their efforts in maintaining public order. They were tasked with implementing effective measures to prevent terrorist acts and other emergencies that may occur in crowded places.
