On March 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an iftar, which was organized throughout the country.
Islam plays a key role in the life and spirituality of our people. The believers in our country are deeply committed to Islamic principles, faithfully follow its teachings, and respect established traditions.
This year, our people warmly and eagerly welcomed Ramadan, a month intended to enrich spiritual life, strengthen faith, mercy and mutual support. Quran recitations take place in mosques, filling the country with blessings and spiritual prosperity. The bonds of brotherhood and friendship in society are strengthened, understanding and support deepen. Faith encourages people to show greater compassion and care, especially towards the sick, elderly, and those in need of assistance.
On this blessed evening, tables were set for iftar in every region of our country, in every makhalla. Esteemed elders from Fergana and Andijan regions also participated in the event in Namangan region.
The President once again addressed the Muslims of our country, congratulating them on the month of Ramadan.
Today, our low-income citizens, compatriots in need of social protection, clergy, the elderly, representatives of the public, and we all are performing iftar together. It is as if the entire multinational people of Uzbekistan gathered around one table, symbolizing a united family. I believe that such events contribute to the elevation of the honor and dignity of a person, the upbringing of youth in this noble spirit, said the Head of our State.
The President expressed gratitude to fellow citizens who demonstrate generosity and contribute their efforts to good deeds.
Indeed, from ancient times, our people have seen support for others, the expression of love and care as the highest virtues. These noble character traits unite us, creating a single nation, and give us strength to overcome life’s challenges.
In recent years, attention has been paid to our compatriots who work and receive education abroad. Important measures are being taken to protect their rights and interests, provide them with material and moral support, including their return to the homeland, ensuring employment and sources of income, and social protection for their families.
Recently, more than 40 of our religious figures visited Russia, the United States, South Korea, Türkiye, Egypt to meet with our compatriots, urging them to preserve faith and moral values, as well as to be vigilant in the current complex situation and respect the laws of the host country, guarding against improper actions.
The President extended congratulations and wishes of health and well-being to our compatriots residing abroad.
The renewed Constitution enshrines the principle of “Uzbekistan as a social state.” On this basis, an entirely new system of social protection is being formed, primarily aimed at providing assistance to those in need, including persons with disabilities, the underprivileged, orphans, and those who require external support.
Speaking about this, Shavkat Mirziyoyev quoted Alisher Navoi: “He who can comfort a sorrowful heart is as if he rebuilds the Kaaba.” These words reflect the essence of Islamic understanding of humanity and compassion, reminding that every Muslim should wish for others the same good they wish for themselves.
Efforts of our state aimed at improving the well-being of the population and reducing poverty were emphasized.
In conclusion, our country’s Leader expressed benevolent wishes: May the sacred month of Ramadan strengthen peace and stability in our country, in all Muslim states, and throughout the world. May brotherhood and mutual respect prevail among people and nations. May the strong support the weak, the generous aid those in need, and the youth be a support for the elderly. May we unwaveringly follow the right path defined by our faith and keep up with the times. May our youth make their mark on the global stage with knowledge, contributing to the growing prestige of our country. May Uzbekistan become one of the most advanced and developed countries in the world. May our prayers be accepted and heard.”
Verses from the Noble Quran were recited, and prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of our people.
