President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the boarding house for children with disabilities, “Muruvvat” № 1.
Uzbekistan is a social state. This corresponds to the eternal values of our people and the principle of respecting the honor and dignity of individuals. Over the past five years, funding from the state budget for the “Muruvvat” homes has tripled. The number of staff and the capacity of these institutions have also increased.
Last year, the National Social Protection Agency was established under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to provide quality services and assistance to the population. The “Muruvvat” homes, as well as many other social institutions such as sanatoriums and rehabilitation centers, have been transferred to the system of this agency.
In the past year, 624 billion Uzbek soums were allocated from the state budget for the activities of these institutions. In addition, twice as much funding has been allocated for providing them with medicines and medical supplies compared to the past.
Previously, the “Muruvvat” homes did not interact with each other. Today, they exchange experiences and implement effective methods and educational practices.
Thanks to state support, the “Muruvvat” Home in Tashkent has also been transformed. An additional building has been constructed, and the old buildings have been thoroughly renovated. The summer sports hall, care units, physical therapy departments, medical and educational classrooms, assembly hall, library, bedrooms, and dining hall have been completely updated. Each department and specialized room are equipped according to modern requirements. The institution is provided with special wheelchairs for children with mobility difficulties.
The institution provides medical and social services to children aged 4 to 18 with serious psychological disorders. Currently, there are 299 children under the care of the institution. They are assisted by 334 employees, including qualified teachers, special education teachers, and doctors.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev observed the children’s activities and had a warm conversation with them. He emphasized that every effort will be made to further improve the conditions, create even greater convenience in the home, and facilitate the realization of the potential of disabled children.
The President expressed his gratitude to the social service workers and highly appreciated their efforts and care for the children.
Thank you very much for taking care of the children. This is a very difficult but necessary and noble work, said the Head of State.
Opinions were exchanged on the rehabilitation and social adaptation of children, as well as psychological support for parents. In recent years, opportunities and a working system have emerged in this field, and now it is necessary to improve conditions in other social institutions as well.
From now on, the “Muruvvat” homes will be equipped with modern rehabilitation equipment and operate according to a new concept, under which children will be integrated into society based on individual development programs. Meeting rooms will be created in all “Muruvvat” homes.
“Support Clubs” will also be established, where qualified specialists will provide guardians with knowledge on how to care for children with disabilities, raise them in a family environment, and adapt them to society. A “Care Group” will be created for children with severe illnesses who are not recommended for special education. Such services for children with disabilities will be organized in all regional rehabilitation centers.
The heating system and engineering networks of the institution have also been completely updated. 500 decorative and fruit trees have been planted on the premises, street lighting has been installed, and the pathways have been paved.
The blessed month of Ramadan is a time when we especially care for the sick and show even more support and attention to each other, which is a noble value of our people.
