 During his visit to Khorezm region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was acquainted with the activities of the Khiva Cluster LLC textile factory.

Uzbekistan pays special attention to manufacturing value-added products based on deep raw material processing. In particular, clusters are creating modern enterprises in the agro-industrial sector, as well as expanding the production of finished products.

One such factory has been established in Khiva district. The company has installed advanced equipment from Turkiye, Germany and China. After launching the production in November last year, the company employs 500 people.

The factory can produce 7 thousand tonnes of yarn, 4 thousand tonnes of knitted fabric and 10 million units of sewn and knitted products annually. Most importantly, their quality meets international standards. Therefore, all the products are exported. The annual export potential of the company is about US$15 million.

Here, the President inspected the production process and talked to the employees.

The company pays special attention to energy efficiency, in line with the trend towards green technologies in the economy. For example, in autumn/winter, the premises are heated with hot water from the production process, saving a large amount of natural gas. In addition, solar panels with a total capacity of 60 kW are installed on the roofs of the buildings. All this helps to reduce production costs.

The company has a quality control and training centre. Waste recycling has been established.

The textile cluster produced almost 20,000 tonnes of cotton last year. 1,545 hectares were irrigated using the drip method.

From 2018 to 2023, the cluster has implemented projects worth US$105 million, creating an export potential of $50 million per year. More than 800 young people work in the cluster system. It currently produces around 20 products in partnership with other companies, including oil, soap, eggs, dairy products and shoes.

The President heard about the cluster's plans for the future. In particular, new projects include increasing the production of raw cotton and its value-added products, and the localization of light trucks. In the coming years, the cluster intends to move towards zero waste production.

The implementation of the following projects will increase the number of cluster employees from 10,000 to 30,000.
