On February 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on proposals to develop infrastructure and export IT services.

The relevant directive was issued during a videoconference held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies on December 20 last year.

Today, the number of residents in the IT park has reached 1,700, with 26,000 people employed there. The “Uzbekistan 2030” Strategy aims to increase the number of residents to 7,500, create 100,000 jobs and boosting the industry’s export volume to US$5 billion.

To this end, it is proposed to implement the “Zero Risk” program, which aims to attract IT service export companies to the regions on a large scale. Participating companies recommended by the IT Park will be provided with unused government facilities free of charge for up to one year. At the end of this period, a direct lease agreement will be concluded. In addition, the IT Park will provide equipment and facilities for free use for up to one year.

There are also a number of incentives for the development of these companies. For example, up to 50% of the costs incurred by program participants for the training and development of their employee will be reimbursed.

The “Local to Global” program will be implemented to support domestic IT companies enter the global market. It includes reimbursement of up to 50% of the expenses incurred for these purposes, including participation in international exhibitions and inviting foreign experts.

The presentation also included information on the “Digital Inclusivity” project. This will train young people, women, and people with disabilities in the provision of IT services. The aim is to create 9,000 jobs, including employment for around 5,000 women and people with disabilities.

Overall, the “Digital Inclusivity” project is expected to create jobs for 25,000 people.

The Head of State approved these proposals and gave additional instructions.
