On February 7, during a telephone conversation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the successful holding of the early presidential elections.

Noting the high turnout and activity of voters, the Head of our State expressed confidence that the brotherly Azerbaijani people made the right choice by voting for the future of the state, for a strong and prosperous Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, topical issues of further development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership relations were discussed. Special attention was paid to the full implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.

The positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover increased by 30% by the end of last year. The joint investment company has started its work and cooperation projects in the automotive, electrical, textile, agricultural, tourism and other sectors are in the active phase of implementation.

The sides exchanged views on cooperation within the international structures, including the Organization of Turkic States. The schedule of upcoming events was reviewed.
