On January 12, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an expanded meeting of the Security Council was held, dedicated to the results of the activities of the Armed Forces and the military-administrative sectors in 2023 and the tasks for the near future.
The event was attended by the heads of ministries and agencies within the system of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, commanders of districts, heads of military-administrative sectors - the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, hokims of regions and the city of Tashkent, as well as representatives of public organizations.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President analyzed the results of the work carried out in 2023 to further strengthen the country's defense capability and develop the Armed Forces. A critical assessment was given of the activities of ministries and agencies, local authorities in this direction, and reports of responsible leaders were heard.
Discussions were held on improving the system of military-patriotic education for servicemen and youth, further development of the national army and strengthening the country's defense capability, increasing the effectiveness of work in the military-administrative sectors and the defense industry complex.
It was emphasized that in the conditions of globalization and increasing competition for the minds and hearts of people, especially the younger generation, the role and significance of military-patriotic education are growing.
Today, each of us must be a true patriot of our motherland and, in this spirit, educate our youth, said the President.
In connection with this, the Head of State gave specific instructions to responsible individuals to revise the system of military-patriotic education. The importance of involving young men and women in the process of reforms in the country and creating conditions for the realization of their intellectual and creative potential was highlighted.
Currently, work is being organized to educate youth in the spirit of military patriotism based on modern infrastructure of the Armed Forces and monocities. The Head of State emphasized the need to expand these activities by providing training in demanded professions and supporting the youth with subsidies for starting their professional careers.
The task was also set to strengthen military-patriotic activities in the media space in order to strengthen the civic position of the youth.
Further, issues of strengthening the country's defense capabilities, improving the combat readiness of the troops, and developing military science were discussed. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief set tasks for further improving the system of combat readiness based on innovative and scientific approaches, implementing modern military and scientific developments for information exchange and decision-making.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that information and cyber security would remain important tasks in ensuring national security. In this context, the need to accelerate the digitalization of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as the integration of all information resources of ministries and agencies into a unified secure information space, was mentioned.
Priority tasks were identified for organizing systematic work in the national army and among the population to increase vigilance and digital literacy in the field of cyber security.
The Security Council meeting also outlined current tasks for further development of the defense industry complex, improvement of the state border protection system, ensuring public safety, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of work in predicting and monitoring emergencies, and preventing accidents and technological disasters.
The President emphasized that social support and care for servicemen and their families would remain an important direction of state policy.
In conclusion of the meeting, the President warmly congratulated all servicemen and the people of our country on the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Motherland, and expressed his best wishes.
