On December 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The President of Uzbekistan cordially congratulated the Azerbaijani Leader on the occasion of his birthday and sincerely wished the brotherly people of Azerbaijan prosperity and well-being.

The personal contribution and historic role of President Ilham Aliyev in ensuring the territorial integrity and rapid development of modern Azerbaijan were highlighted.

The two presidents noted with great satisfaction the current high level of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership.

By the end of 2023, the trade turnover has grown by 30%, with active preparation and implementation of promising cooperation projects in machine building, textile production, silk production, agriculture, oil and gas complex, tourism and many other sectors.

The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan agreed to further develop 10 new areas of practical interaction in the year of intensive development of bilateral relations.

The sides also considered the schedule of events for 2024. The President of Uzbekistan wished the Head of Azerbaijan a successful holding of the upcoming presidential elections in that country.
