On December 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on proposals for the development of the automotive and agricultural machinery industries.
As a result of the economic reforms implemented in our country, these industries have been consistently upgrading. Despite logistical challenges, car production has tripled in recent years and is expected to reach 415,000 units by the end of this year. In order to eliminate the state monopoly and promote competition in the industry, three new private car manufacturers and prestigious foreign brands have been attracted. Today, 8 factories in the country produce tens of car models, commercial and passenger vehicles, agricultural and special machinery.
In addition, more than 2,000 industrial enterprises work closely together, ensuring 50% localization of components.
At the same time, demand for cars remains high. Competition among car manufacturers is intensifying in both domestic and international markets. During the meeting it was noted that JSC "Uzavtosanoat" should make more efforts to expand its product range, improve quality, reduce production costs and operate in a competitive environment.
During the presentation, plans and tasks of the industry were discussed.
In particular, the goal is to increase the country's passenger car production to 1 million units by 2030. Measures to achieve this goal in 2024 have been defined.
The President stressed the importance of accelerating the transformation of Uzavtosanoat and reducing costs.
As it is known, the world's leading car manufacturers are switching to the production of electric vehicles. If domestic companies lag behind in mastering this industry, they will find it difficult to secure a worthy place on the market in the future.
Projects in this direction have already been launched. Next year, a car factory with an annual production capacity of 10,000 electric vehicles is to be launched.
The President underlined the importance of paying special attention to the production of electric vehicles and directed that the production of components for these vehicles be established.
The country's agricultural machinery industry has produced more than 3,500 units this year. The plan is to increase this to 16,000 units a year by 2030.
An agricultural machinery cluster has been created in Chirchik. Its annual production capacity is 15,000 tractors, trailers and other machines. However, the sales system does not meet the requirements of the time.
In this regard, it was stressed that it is necessary to expand the stimulation of the purchase of domestic equipment, to increase the interest of clusters and farmers, to create a portfolio of orders, and additional measures were defined. The aim is to achieve a localization level of 35% for domestic tractors and an average of 60% for mounted equipment and trailers.
