The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held talks with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon on the margins of the Economic Cooperation Organization summit.

The Heads of State considered the issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Tajik relations of good-neighbourliness, strategic partnership and alliance.

The sides stressed the importance of continuing coordinated work, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission, on boosting mutual trade, promoting cooperation projects in machine-building, energy, electrical, textile and other sectors.

A particular attention has been paid to expanding business partnership between the regions, cultural and humanitarian exchange.

The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
