On November 9, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi as part of the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit in Tashkent.

The issues of further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Iran and enhancing practical interaction in trade, investment, innovation and transport were discussed.

The ongoing active mutual contacts were noted with satisfaction.

The dynamics of growth in the volume of bilateral trade turnover continues. Joint cooperation projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy.

A particular attention was paid to the full implementation of previous agreements reached at the highest level.

Opportunities to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in industrial cooperation and localization, agriculture and logistics were highlighted.

The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran advocated the development of cultural, humanitarian and scientific exchanges.

The issues on the regional agenda were also discussed, including in the context of the current situation in Afghanistan.
