On October 13, on the sidelines of the ongoing CIS Summit in the city of Bishkek, the President of Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The sides discussed the topical issues of bilateral agenda.
The Presidents welcomed the dynamic development of Uzbek-Belarus multifaceted relations.
Mutual trade turnover indicators are growing, and cooperation projects in various sectors of economy are being implemented. Regular events in the fields of culture, cinema, and sports are organized.
The leaders emphasized the importance of coordinated measures to further enhance the cooperation in trade, economics and humanitarian fields, including the organization of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Forum of Regions, and the meeting of rectors of leading universities of Uzbekistan and Belarus.
They also exchanged opinions on the interaction within CIS and other international structures.
The schedule of upcoming events was also discussed.
