The Kremlin hosted a meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in a contracted format.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked Vladimir Putin for the traditionally warm welcome and hospitality and highly appreciated the current state of bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamics of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
It was emphasized that in preparation for the current visit, several events were successfully held at the highest level, including the fourth meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government, a medical forum, and forums of rectors and regions.
Industrial cooperation is developing dynamically. The volume of Russian investment in Uzbekistan is growing.
The presidents stated the importance of further developing interaction between the regions. Following the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation held in Kazan on October 4, agreements and contracts worth $3.5 billion were signed.
An agreement was reached on preparing a separate action plan of industrial cooperation by region with a schedule for organizing mutual visits throughout the year.
At the meeting, issues of ensuring social guarantees for our citizens working in Russia were discussed in detail.
The day before, the opening of the updated Uzbekistan pavilion also took place at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre.
The Presidents highly appreciated the rich and diverse cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Important cultural events have been organized: the national ballet “Lazgi” premiere in Moscow, the Uzbek Cinema Days, and events of the “Russian Seasons” project in Uzbekistan.
The leaders of the two states agreed to adopt a rich Program of Cultural Cooperation for 2024-2025.
The Presidents exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, which took place in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, the parties confirmed their commitment to further strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
