On October 4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the leading Korean company “SK Group” led by its Chairman, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Korea Chey Tae-won.

The President welcomed the progressive development of Uzbek-Korean relations of special strategic partnership, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.

At the meeting, the issues of expanding practical cooperation with the SK Group company on the implementation of high-tech projects, particularly the organization of copper foil production in the Tashkent region, were discussed.

A special attention was paid to promising projects on the deep processing of raw materials and the production of finished products with a high added value. Plans for training engineering personnel and conducting scientific research in the semiconductor industry were supported.

The importance of the active participation of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the attraction of direct investment from the leading Korean companies to implement cooperation projects in priority sectors was emphasized.
