As part of the official business program of the state visit to Qatar, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Director of the Qatar Investment Agency Bandar bin Saud Al Thani.

The Agency is one of the leading investment holdings at the global level, with extensive experience in promoting major projects in the fields of industry, infrastructure development, energy, real estate, and electronic technologies. The Head of the Agency takes post of the Chairman of the Central Bank of Qatar as well.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on attracting direct investments from the agency for the implementation of investment projects, such as the construction of "green" energy facilities - solar and wind power stations in various regions of the country, modernization of transportation infrastructure, including the construction of modern airports, and others.

The sides expressed interest in exchanging expertise in the development of advanced banking and financial services, including within the framework of Islamic financing programs.

It was agreed that a bilateral working group meeting would take place in the near future to implement joint projects.
