On September 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev, who was visiting our country.

The sides discussed pressing issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and comprehensive strategic partnership.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to our President.

During the meeting, the current high level and fruitful nature of bilateral cooperation were noted with particular satisfaction. Particularly, active contacts and exchanges at various levels, an increase in trade volumes and cargo transportation, and the implementation of cooperative projects, including those with the involvement of joint fund investments were welcomed.

The vital role of developing close inter-parliamentary relations in expanding multifaceted relations, fulfilling agreements at the highest level, advancing prospective projects, enhancing practical cooperation at the regional and business levels, as well as conducting cultural and humanitarian events in both countries was emphasized.

The importance of strengthening interaction and coordination within specialized international organizations was also highlighted.
