On September 20, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the program of his stay in New York City received the Chairman of the largest American financial corporation Citigroup John Dugan.

The President welcomed the fruitful cooperation with the American corporation, which helped Uzbekistan's banks and state companies to place bonds on the international exchanges.

The Leader of Uzbekistan also supported the plans of Citigroup to open a representative office of the subsidiary bank Citibank in our country.

At the meeting, the issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the banking and financial sector, introduction of effective tools to increase the attractiveness and liquidity of securities in the stock market, attracting foreign investors to the capital market of our country were discussed.

An agreement was reached on the adoption of a "road map" for expanding cooperation with the American corporation, indicating effective mechanisms and specific implementation dates.
