On September 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on measures for the e-government development.
The digitalization of the economy, and social sectors is being actively carried out in our country. Tasks in this direction have been defined in the recently adopted Strategy “Uzbekistan - 2030”. The goal is to enter the top 30 of the UN E-Government Index.
This international rating (e-Government Development Index) reflects the degree of development of e-government in countries around the world, and encourages the expansion of electronic dialogue between the state and the people, increasing the accessibility and usability of services, and developing the country’s investment attractiveness. In recent years, Uzbekistan has been consistently improving its position in this ranking, and last year took 69th place.
A road map with 53 events in 6 directions has been developed with the participation of foreign experts with an aim to enter the top thirty rating. It envisages, among other things, the improvement of 112 indicators in the field of online services, the launch and integration of 700 digital services into the my.gov.uz portal in 2024, and the provision of settlements and highways with high-speed Internet.
A Project Office will be established under the Commission on the implementation of the Strategy “Uzbekistan – 2030” for scientific and legal support of these processes, and for interaction with partners.
The Head of State approved these proposals, gave instructions on human capital development in the field of online services and high technologies. The Ministry of Digital Technologies has been tasked to prepare a presentation at the respective UN Department (UNDESA) on the measures taken by Uzbekistan and the outcomes achieved to improve Uzbekistan’s position in the ranking.
