President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the «Asia Metal Prof» Limited Liability Company in Samarkand.

In the period from 2018 to 2022, projects worth $110 million have been implemented at this large plant together with the Chinese partners, including attracting $33 million of direct investments.

Thus, in December 2018, the production of galvanized and polymerized metal sheets was launched, followed by the second phase with the production of metal pipes and profiles of 2021. In February 2022, the production of hot-rolled metal sheets and structural profiles also began.

These products are not only able to replace imports, but are also in demand on foreign markets. In particular, the enterprise exported goods worth $63 million last year. The figure is expected to rise this year. It currently employs 520 people.

The Head of State visited the site of the fourth phase of the projects, the rebar manufacturing plant. It will be able to produce 390 thousand tons of rebar per year and create 150 new jobs.

A total of five more projects are planned for 2023–2025. In total, $621 million will be invested in these projects, which will create the capacity to produce 1,7 million tons of metal goods and 10 million square meters of glass. Up to 930 new jobs will be created.

The President emphasized the need to increase export competitiveness by localizing and reducing cost prices.
