On August 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand region.

First, the President visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari in Payaryk district. Surahs from the Quran and duas were recited.

“We pray to the Almighty to protect peace and tranquility in our country and to send us prosperity and well-being. We are now very close to celebrating the 32nd anniversary of our independence. We are grateful that our nation has come so far. At the same time, we have big plans for ourselves. In order to achieve them, we must work twice as hard and pay more attention to the education of our youth. The results will be great if education and knowledge are prioritised in all areas. We want our youth to be worthy of our ancestors like Imam Bukhari and Mirzo Ulugbek," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

It was noted that a model of Islamic enlightenment similar to that in Bukhara should be established in Samarkand. It was instructed to step up work to protect young people from foreign ideas, to fight ignorance through education using the legacy of the scholars of the past.

The complex is currently being renovated. The President inspected the trim options.
