On August 8, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation from Turkiye's Cengiz Holding, led by Chairman Mehmet Cengiz.
They discussed the issues of further developing mutually beneficial cooperation and implementing joint projects to modernize the economic sectors of our countries.
It should be noted that in Uzbekistan two projects have been successfully completed with the participation of this leading Turkish multi-profile holding - power plants with a total capacity of 460 megawatts have been put into operation in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions.
In addition, a project for the construction of another power plant in Jizzakh region with a capacity of over 500 megawatts is currently under consideration.
During the meeting, Cengiz Holding Chairman Mehmet Cengiz outlined plans to implement new projects worth more than $5 billion.
These include the modernization and construction of highways, the geological exploration and development of promising mineral deposits, and the management of our country's energy sector facilities through public-private partnerships.
