Last year, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction of the «New Uzbekistan» housing estate in Ferghana. Following the current trip to the region, the President examined the work progress.

Today, the construction is intensively carried out on a vast area of 300 hectares. It is planned to build 298 multi-apartment buildings here, designed for more than 65,000 residents. This is of great social importance for the densely populated Ferghana and the entire region.

This year, 73 houses are being built. The first of them have already been put into operation.

Schools, preschool and medical institutions, trade and consumer services centers, and a sports complex will also be located on the territory of the neighborhood. A small industrial zone of 50 hectares will be essential in providing residents with jobs.

The neighborhood will be a kind of eco-town on the territory of 70 hectares, it is planned to create the «New Uzbekistan» park and an artificial lake. Empty lots will be landscaped. An alley will be created around the reservoir.

Uzbek President gave instructions on attracting investors to socio-economic projects on the territory of the neighborhood, organizing a wide range of services.

The President completed his trip to Ferghana Region and returned to Tashkent.
