On July 24, the topical issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and alliance have been discussed during a telephone conversation between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

At the outset of the conversation, the Tajik Leader warmly congratulated the Uzbek President on his birthday and extended his sincere wishes for peace, well-being and prosperity to the fraternal people of Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed the preparation for the upcoming summit events and giving concrete practical content to the agenda of bilateral relations.

The Leaders agreed on the importance of further intensifying business and humanitarian contacts, including joint exhibitions and fairs, as well as cultural and sports events with an extensive involvement of youth.

The issues of regional interaction within the mechanisms of regular Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the International Fund for the Saving of the Aral Sea were considered.
