The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on his first foreign visit to Saudi Arabia since his election as head of state, has visited the holiest shrine of Islam - the city of Mecca.

On July 19, the first day of the month of Muharram in the new year 1445 AH, the head of our state put on a special ihram robe and performed Umrah rites. It was a great honour for the Leader of our country to enter the holy Kaaba and pray namaz.

In accordance with the five pillars of Islam, Shavkat Mirziyoyev performed Tawaf, the circumambulation of the Kaaba seven times, as well as seven walks between the hills of Safa and Marwa. Duas were recited praying for the prosperity of our Motherland, peace and well-being of our people, happiness and a bright future for all our compatriots and the young generation.

It should be noted that the ceremony of changing the Kiswa, the traditional covering of the Kaaba, took place today.
