On July 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation.

Current issues on the bilateral agenda and regional interaction were considered.

The Pakistani Leader warmly congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the presidential elections and wished the people of Uzbekistan peace, well-being, and prosperity.

Following the conversation, the sides noted the importance of practical implementation of the agreements adopted at the highest level in trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The mutual interest in developing cooperation among the leading companies of the two countries and increasing the trade turnover was emphasized.

A particular attention was paid to promoting the construction project of the Trans-Afghan railway.
