The issues of further deepening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation were discussed during a telephone conversation between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Turkmen President sincerely congratulated the Uzbek President on his decisive victory in the early presidential elections held the day before.

The continued active contacts at all levels were satisfactorily noted. Since the beginning of the year, the meetings of intergovernmental commissions, political consultations, meetings of the ministers of transport, energy and culture have been successfully held.

A trade turnover is growing at a steady pace. Important humanitarian programs aimed at bringing the two fraternal peoples closer together are being implemented.

The Leaders of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan noted the importance of building up comprehensive cooperation and promoting practical cooperation projects.
