On July 9, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Presidential Candidate from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a polling station №59 in Tashkent and voted at the elections.
As it is known, following the referendum held on April 30 this year, the renewed Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted, which consolidated the country’s status as a legal, secular and social state and increased the obligations of state bodies. The renewed Constitution put forward new political and socio-economic tasks for the state authorities.
In this regard, the President addressed the people and in accordance with Article 128 of the Constitution, called for early presidential elections. This decision was supported by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, political parties, and members of the public.
The Central Election Commission registered candidates from 4 political parties. 14 constituencies and 19 thousand polling stations have been formed. All candidates have equal and free conditions to participate in the elections.
The presidential election is an important political event that has a decisive impact on the current life and future of the country and the well-being of its people. Aware of this, citizens are taking an active part in the elections.
749 observers from 47 countries and 15 major international organizations are monitoring the elections. The media will provide extensive coverage of the electoral process.
