On June 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation.

The leaders warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of the two countries on the occasion of the holy holiday of Kurban Hayit and expressed their sincere wishes for peace, well-being and prosperity.

Current issues of expanding multifaceted cooperation and strengthening relations of comprehensive strategic partnership have been considered.

The high dynamics and fruitfulness of practical interaction in political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres in accordance with the highest level agreements have been noted.

The active implementation of major investment projects in our country with the participation of leading Turkish companies continues. A total of about 100 new joint ventures have been established since the beginning of the year.

An intergovernmental agreement on preferential trade will come into force on July 1 this year, which will help to further increase the volume of mutual trade. The frequency of flights between the cities of the two countries is increasing.

There was an exchange of views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.

The schedule of forthcoming events at the highest level has been reviewed. The sides stressed the importance of thorough preparation of the agenda of the next meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council at the highest level.
