On May 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun in Xi’an as part of the second day agenda of state visit to China.

The practical aspects of further expanding strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and this reputable international financial institution were discussed.

In recent years, the high dynamics of developing relations with the Bank were noted with particular satisfaction, for instance, the portfolio of priority investment and socially important projects has exceeded $2 billion.

The issues of supporting and promoting programs in the spheres of poverty reduction and welfare improvement, introduction of renewable energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, development of private sector were at the focus of discussion.

The importance of early adopting a new Partnership Programme and preparing major joint activities was underscored.
