On May 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda who arrived in our country to attend the regular meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
The issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of good-neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance were considered. The prospects for expanding practical cooperation were discussed.
At the beginning of conversation, Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to our President.
During the meeting, the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in accordance with agreements reached at the top level was noted with satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade and cargo transportation are growing along with an increase in the number of successful cooperation projects. The close interregional contacts have been established. Active cultural and humanitarian exchanges are taking place.
A particular attention was paid to the adoption of effective measures for boosting trade turnover, advancing promising projects in energy, mechanical engineering, agriculture, transport, mining, textiles and other industries with the involvement of Uzbek-Tajik investment company in this process.
In this context, the importance of practical implementation of decisions reached at the Joint Intergovernmental Commission meeting held today in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the two countries’ prime ministers has been underscored.
