On May 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a French delegation led by Oliver Becht, Co-Chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad.
The issues of promoting and accelerating specific trade, economic, investment, and financial cooperation projects with the participation of leading French companies and organizations in Uzbekistan were considered.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Oliver Becht conveyed warm greetings and a letter from the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The President of Uzbekistan satisfactorily noted the productive results of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, held in Tashkent city today in the morning, and the business mission of the «MEDEF» Movement to Uzbekistan in April this year.
The progress on strategic projects implemented in green energy, the extractive industry, the modernization of tourism infrastructure and utility networks, and other priority areas was emphasized.
The interest of French companies in implementing projects in urban planning, transport, the textile industry, and the production of new types of building materials is growing.
The Leader of Uzbekistan welcomed the plans to establish Uzbekistan – France Chamber of Commerce and introduce an effective system to support business initiatives.
