On April 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev recieved a delegation of the Republic of Turkiye led by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. The issues of enhancing practical interaction, supporting and promoting cooperation projects, introducing innovations and advanced technologies, as well as other aspects of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkiye were on the agenda of the meeting.
A Turkish delegation arrived in Uzbekistan on behalf of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to demonstrate and hand over the first national electric car under the “TOGG” brand.
The President of Uzbekistan has noted the current high dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges at all levels with a particular satisfaction.
A steady growth in trade volumes, the joint implementation of several large investment projects in priority sectors, and an increase in the frequency of regular flights between the two countries were cited as an example.
The wide opportunities have been noted for developing industrial cooperation by attracting leading Turkish companies to implement projects, including in the automotive industry.
A particular attention was paid to a thorough preparation of the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council of the highest level, including the formation of a portfolio of promising projects and the adoption of a long-term industrial program.
Following the meeting, a presentation of the “TOGG” electric car took place, during which Minister Mustafa Varank explained in detail the technical characteristics of a vehicle and solemnly handed over the keys.
The President of Uzbekistan, expressing gratitude, sincerely congratulated the President and the people of Turkey on a great achievement in mechanical engineering – the launch of the industrial production of an electric vehicle.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally drove and tested the electric car, one of the first to come off the assembly line of the Turkish manufacturer.
