On April 4, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Gergawi. The prospects for the implementation of specific projects and programs in the spheres of high technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization, modernization of urban infrastructure, development of trade and investment potential of the regions, as well as other issues were discussed.
The President underscored that these spheres need to form the future agenda of the upcoming top-level bilateral summit.
In addition, an interest was expressed in further expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as improving the efficiency of the ongoing reforms, training of qualified managerial staff and coders, as well as the introduction of e-government and other areas.
Minister Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Gergawi conveyed to the Uzbek President the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Emirates Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan and the Vice President, Prime Minister, Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum.
Following the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan gave instructions to renew the «road map» for accelerating the implementation of current programs and the preparation of perspective projects.
At the end, Minister Al-Gergawi was presented with a high state award - the Order of «Dustlik» (‘friendship’) for his great contribution to the deepening of the Uzbek-Emirati multilateral relations and comprehensive support of the reforms program in the New Uzbekistan.
